How we score Bitcoin mixers

Every mixer in the 2026 ranking is scored out of 10 using four weighted criteria. This page documents the model so the ranking can be checked rather than trusted.
The four criteria and their weights
Scores are the weighted sum of four components, each rated 1–10:
- Mixing technology — 35%. Size of the anonymity set, CoinJoin implementation quality, amount randomisation, cross-chain bridging.
- Fee model — 25%. Transparency, predictability and whether the fee itself leaks a pattern.
- Network privacy — 25%. Native Tor routing, no-logs operation, metadata handling.
- Control and flexibility — 15%. Custom delays, output splitting, non-custodial key control.
What raises and lowers a score
Non-custodial key control, native Tor, randomised fees and configurable delays raise a score. Custodial designs, opaque fee schedules, missing letters of guarantee, unexplained downtime and unverifiable claims lower it.
Where public information is insufficient to judge a criterion, we score conservatively rather than assume the best case.
Sources and revision cycle
We work from service documentation, published fee schedules, open-source implementation code where available, and public community reporting. We re-check every entry at least quarterly and after any announced protocol or fee change; the revision date is shown on each page.
